Introductory Special: Save 40% On Marabu’s Fashion Spray, Fashion Shimmer, Fashion Liner
      September 1, 2017

Today I’m excited to share a new group of products from Marabu: Fashion Spray, Fashion Shimmer, and Fashion Liner.

Yes, the word fashion does suggest work on fabric or with textiles, but… don’t dismiss this group if you’re not a textile person.  They’re just as awesome on paper as when used on fabric.  And, best of all, once they dry on paper they stay put.  So no more creating a layer you love only to have it disturbed or destroyed by a subsequent one.

In the video you’ll see me hold up a piece of watercolor paper that I sprayed several colors of Fashion Spray on.  Once everything was dry I scraped on some gesso and let it dry and amazingly, the gesso remained white.  There wasn’t even a hint of discoloration and this too has a place in how we work in journals and mixed media projects.  Some of the time you want that white layer to not be tinted by the underlying layers and the Fashion Sprays mean you can easily make that happen.

Fashion Liners also stay put once dry.  I like to think of them as little tubes of magic because they allow me to add lines, dots, and doodle with color.  There are shimmer colors here too!  Though they create a raised design when applied, they flatten and absorb into the surface as they dry, leaving the surface almost completely smooth.

Fashion Shimmer are the sprays with the addition of mica – a lot of it – that allows you to create wonderfully shimmery layers.  I demo them with a stencil in one of the Global Art Materials Handbook Journals and then print what remains on the adjacent page.  Yummy doesn’t even come close to describing how much luscious shimmer there is in these sprays.

Also in the video you’ll see some samples created on our new 5″ Cotton Canvas Roll.  For a limited time you can have one for free if you spend $30 on the three Marabu Fashion Products.  If your order qualifies the warehouse will automatically include one in your package.

If you want more than one roll (which I get – this stuff is so awesome I’m not sure 3 yards is enough!) we have them for sale.  Click the link you’ll find below the video.

Remember, to reach the $30 threshold, you must spend $30 on Fashion Spray, Shimmer, or Liner!

Hi Barb, this looks like a great product line, and as usual I found your video very interesting and full of great ideas. Just a tip you might find helpful. As a quilter as well as a paper art lover I often have to trace or draw onto fabric, and I noticed when you were using the liner on the canvas that it was moving a bit as you were drawing on it. I use a sandpaper board (a sheet of fine sandpaper glued onto a backing board), lay the fabric on top, and then when I draw around a shape on the fabric it doesn’t move and I don’t have to hold it in place. It works really well! Thanks for all your inspiring videos and ideas! Regards, Karene

      Hi Karene,

I think I knew about the sandpaper trick, back in the day, when I was actively working with fabric. I guess it was one of those ‘use or lose’ memories but thanks to you it’s back!

The Fashion line is as fab as it looks in the video. Testimony to that is the fact that none of it has been put away… it’s out where I can reach for it. :+)
