Welcome to Wednesday and today’s MidWeek Muse where we’re working with Luminarte’s Silks Acrylic Glaze. I had a lot of fun playing with the Silks while I was filming the video. I love glimmer (has that come to your attention?!) and Silks are all about luscious color that glimmers and shines. Silks are versatile and in the video you’ll see me use them in a variety of ways. Stenciling, stamping, and brushing them on all produce wonderful results.
One of the first techniques you see in the video is me using Silks with stencils, letting them dry, then washing color over the top. Since Silks are permanent when dry they resist any color you put over the top. The stenciled image remains and the background becomes colored with whatever you wash over it.

some of my silks glazes have hardened. Is there a way to do something so I can use these acrylics?
If they’re completely dried out then there’s no salvaging them. If they’re just really thick you can stir in water, a little at a time.
Thank you
I guess some of them are toast.
