Technically this is a self-answering question since it’s quite obvious what this is – the new Distress Crayons. Not only do I have a sample in my possession, I had a chance to try them in a class with Tim last Friday, while I was attending CHA.
As you would expect, they’re pretty awesome. Water reactive, but in a different way than we’re accustomed to. Deep, rich pigment that’s creamy and smooth. Manipulate with your fingers or a brush. Awesome indeed!
The initial release includes 18 colors, 6 in each a set for a total of 3 sets. I have them on order and will post them to the site the moment they arrive. You’re gonna love them!

They look more like markers than crayons! Are they called crayons because of the texture of the color that comes out? Are they more like a paint pen than a crayon?
I’ll take all 3 sets 🙂
Me, too!
Me too, three sets please
Oooh! I saw videos of them. I can’t wait! All three sets look fantastic.
All three sets for me too… Am wondering how they compare to Caran d’Ache watercolor crayons (which are really wax pastels)?
How do these compare to gelato which you can add water or rub with fingers?
