Steampunk Spells Wooden Treasure Box

It’s Wednesday and time for the newest MidWeek Muse video where I’m once again using Graphic 45’s Steampunk Spells paper, this time to decorate a wooden cigar box. The papers make for a wonderful project and the addition of Ideaology Foundation Feet, plus Curio Knobs or Clock Keys as a handle, and a variety of other embellishments really finish it off and make the whole thing very special.

I created two of the boxes and have taken photos of them both so you can see the different options available depending on which Ideaology components and Steampunk Spells papers and accessories are used. You’ll notice that I’ve brought in the 8″ x 8″ Steampunk Spells paper pad as it offers the papers scaled downward from the usual 12″ x 12″ size. Given that the wooden cigar box is similarly sized it allows for all kinds of fun options. The photos are posted on the page with the video. You may need to scroll down to see them.

As you get toward the end of the video, where I’m demoing how to attach the feet and handle to the box, I’ll discuss some wood screws and a machine screw that I used to adapt the Ideaology Foundation Feet and either the Curio Knob or a Clock Key as the handle. Since I’d already done the legwork of poking through dusty hardware bins to determine the correct wood and machine screws, I decided to make things easy for all of you by giving them away.

You’ll need 8 of the #4 x 1/2″ wood screws (for the Foundation Feet) and one of the #4-40 x 1/2″ machine screws (for either the Curio Knobs or Clock keys) and I’ll give them to anyone who buys the Ideaology Foundation Feet AND either the Ideaology Curio Knobs OR the Ideaology Clock Keys.
