I love Pebeo’s Iridescent and Metallic Studio Paint. The shimmer can be subtle or in your face, depending on how much of it is applied. It’s especially wonderful on the Gel Press Plate when printed in thin layers. It’s become the paint I reach for most often for a great many things.
There are 11 colors; 7 dyna colors and 4 that are metallic. So what’s an artist to do when what the color she needs is not among those 11? Mix it, and in today’s video I’ll show you how. There is no black or white, so no tint or shades, right? Not exactly… I’ll show you how to use Iridescent Silver and Black Blue like white and black/grey to approximate tints and tones.
As you’ll see it’s pretty easy to expand the color palette by combining two of this or that, in some ratio, to create something fabulous. I keep track of amounts I use in combination, thinking of them as color recipes, so I can recreate a particular one when needed.
