Paint pens have many uses in art journaling and mixed media. Lettering. Doodling. Dot and circle making. And much, much more.
Finding a brand and style of pen that checks all of the boxes and do the things I need them to has been a challenge, but with the introduction of Pebeo’s decoMarkers, those boxes have been checked and I’m happily dotting and doodling my way in creative bliss.
Today’s video will show you the basics of using decoMarkers from priming them to simple line and dot patterns. Is there more? Absolutely, and with 4 tip sizes and a wide range of colors, I suspect you’re going to discover what I have… that these are your go-to paint pen. Whether it’s a simple border on a card, an elaborate doodle on an art journal page, or altering a photo for a mixed media project, decoMarkers are more than up to the task!

Hi Barbara-thanks so much for the video. I too have struggled to find the perfect marker. I thought it was because I am a newbie to mixed media :). Can you tell me if they work over gelatos? I have had limited success with Pitt pens – maybe I am not letting my work dry long enough? I would love to hear your thoughts!Vicki
Hi Vickie,
You’re welcome! I have not tried the markers over Gelatos, but see no reason why they won’t work. They’re ok to use on glass and plastic, so should go right over the Gelatos.
PITT Pens are a little finickier and are not suitable for use on non-porous surfaces, which is why you’re not getting the results you want.
