Today’s MidWeek Muse video shines a shimmery spotlight on 5 new colors of Lindy’s Starburst Sprays. Released a few weeks ago, this group includes Bling-y Blonde, Drop Dead Gorgeous Green, Hi Maintenance Magenta, Prima Donna Purple, and Sassy Sapphire.
I had a chance to work with them all and in the video you’ll see me use them in combination with Distress and Dylusions Paints. I created color schemes, some multi and some more monochromatic, to jump start your creating with the new Lindy’s. A spritz of color here and a stencil or two there, and before you know it an awesome journal background is just waiting to be finished.
The pages you’ll see me work on are leftover from last week’s video about tip-ins and I’m working simply, adding the paint over dried gesso (which I quickly demo) and then using the sprays alone and with stencils. If you missed the Page Alterations: Tip-Ins & Trimmings video I’ll add a link at the end of the newsletter. The last little experiment is with the new Distress Splatter Brush and the sprays. Though they’re thin bodied and water-like, you can spatter them quite easily with the Splatter Brush, creating random patterning simply and easily.

Hi Barb, I know you like to hear about projects others have completed using your ideas. I just finished a mini album using your technic in your last video. I had ordered the deli paper a while ago and hadn’t even used it. My Alcohol inks have been sitting in the cabinet unused. Thanks for great idea. If you like to see photos reply back and I will include some pictures. Cool idea! Thanks!! I really love your videos. I go back and watch some of your older videos for inspiration. My favorites are the mixed media pages in your albums. Thanks again for all the great ideas and technics.
