It’s Wednesday which means the newest MidWeek Muse awaits. This week I’m back working with Art Cards. They have become a process that I enjoy and find myself returning to time and again.
It’s not unusual for me to obsess about creating something specific for short periods of time and then once I’ve had my fill move on to something else. What is quite different with Art Cards is my continued preoccupation and fascination with them. I find myself wondering about products to use, techniques to try, and all manner of creative things.
It’s that obsession (and lack of studio tidiness) that led to me working with Daler Rowney’s FW Pearlescent Inks on the background and to color elements on my Art Cards. You’ll see me do some color mixing with them to create shades that are not available in the line. I’m using Dina Wakley’s Media Paint to mix some interesting variations of colors, too. Hint: Blackberry Violet can be transformed with the addition of some other colors!
Embellishing Art Cards takes a twist after a customer mailed me suggesting rhinestones (thanks Pat!) and before I knew it, I was blinging Art Cards left and right. I also brought out my Sharpie Paint Markers, this time using colors other than black and white, and dotting away for a different look.
