It’s time for our newest MidWeek Muse video tutorial, which is particularly timely since I’m demoing how to create a Christmas themed book.
Beginning with bare chipboard, I’ll show you how to create the covers and add texture using plain white tissue paper, then use papers from Tim Holtz’s Merriment paper stash to add a splash of pattern and color. From there I add one of his Woodlands bottle brush trees (trimmed so it lays flat against the cover) and some other Ideaology Christmas embellishments to finish the front cover. Adding Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter to the Woodlands tree provides a hint of sparkle, completing the festive feel of the 6″ x 9″ book. That size is perfect for mounting photos and other holiday ephemera, allowing you to capture the memories of your special day.
These books are quick to create and would make nice gifts for friends and family, and for you too.
