Today’s MidWeek Muse videos (plural, did you notice?) debut a new, very unique line of stencils. I’m sure you’ve heard that before, but what I’ve got for you today truly is different than what you’ve seen and used previously.
What makes these stencils so unique and wonderful?
First of all, they were designed by my good friend Margaret Applin. Right off the bat, that tells you the imagery is going to be wonderful.
What else? The elements in each collection (there are 4 in total) include designs that share the same look and feel, coordinated to play beautifully together as you tell a visual story.
And? They stand alone. Use them as you would any other stencil, adding pattern, color, and texture to your art. Though they’re collection based, each is sold individually so you can pick and choose your favorites, should you wish to.
More? There’s one stencil named the Circle Master Template. With it you can create circles, large and small, and fill them with color and images. Those deli papers you’ve been creating? Perfect for adding to the various segments of your circles. Paint? Yup, that works too!
Margaret will show you how to use the Circle Master Template in her video, along with a couple of really fun projects. One is fabric based, so the surface design and art quilters will love the possibilities Margaret’s stencils will provide.
Me? I’m working in art journals, showing you how to use the stencils in a collection together in a project (an envelope journal) as well as how to use them as standalone design tools.
