Little Bits Of Wonder… Joggles 3″ x 4″ Disc Bound Watercolor Journals
      April 4, 2018

The pages for this journal happened by accident.  I had room left on the laser when cutting other sizes for our existing journals and decided to squeeze something small in the remaining space.  The result were these pages, measuring just 3″ x 4″.

As often is the case, those accidental discoveries spawn some marvelous ideas and projects.  After lots of play and experimentation, I’ve discovered that working this small has significant benefits, not the least of which is being able to finish one in a short period of time.  I rarely found the size limiting and soon realized that this diminutive journal was to my liking.  The disc binding allows for easy removal of pages and soon I had lots of them in various stages of completion.

      Another benefit?

You can have a lot of them in process ones around your work space without taking up every last square inch of room!

In today’s video I’m demoing three background techniques, showing you my small alphabet journal and the simple watercolor lettering, and demoing my process for choosing the elements for a page.  You’ll see a lot of Jane Davenport’s marvelous collage images, Washi Tape, and Rub Ons.  I love her colors and imagery, finding them right in my creative wheelhouse.

I hope you’ll give this small journal a try and discover how much fun there is to be had creating in one.

This was a great video……..I can see the real benefits of using smaller journals. I have a number on the go with backgrounds waiting to be used for artwork but they do take up so much space.
I love the napkin, filled with so many items. You showed a technique with your brush and water . I forget to use a water brush to pull out the pictures. So easy and looks good on paper.

Your world helps me improve and your way of creating has me enthralled.

      Thank You………Respect Mandy R
