Our newest MidWeek Muse video features color and shimmer as I play with Lindy’s Stamp Gang’s Little Lindy assortments and Magicals Powdered Pigment.
Little Lindy’s are color coordinated collections that include two colors of Starbursts (one with a sprayer and the other with a dauber top), a Moon Shadow Mist, and a pot of Magicals Powder. Those Magicals are sold in sets of 5 or 6 in addition to being a component in the Little Lindys, so lots of options! Buying sets like these means the color work has been done for you; each element has been selected to create an overall harmonized color grouping or theme.
If you’re a little unsure about color, or want to move away from your usual combinations, Magicals and Little Lindys will help you with ones you may not have considered. In the video I’ll show you how I create color cards using Strathmore Artist Tiles (aka Art Cards) which you can keep as a reference so you know what colors were in the Autumn Leaves collection. Things can be a bit disorganized in my studio (a rather large understatement), so having the color cards will be a handy reference.
In the video I explain some basics about Starburst and Moon Shadow Sprays, then jump into the Magicals which are a wonderful product with potential galore. Mix with water to create a paint or add some to Ranger’s Texture Paste, Modeling Paste, or other gel or medium for a totally unique product. I like the idea of being able to customize the colors in my art and the Magicals are a perfect way to accomplish that.
Of course I love shimmer most of all and each component of the Little Lindy’s allows me to create with that luscious element.
