Wednesday tends to be one of my favorite times of the week since it’s MidWeek Muse Day. I enjoy being able to share projects and techniques with you, things I’m really excited about and hope you’ll enjoy playing with too.
Some Wednesdays are especially exciting when I’m able to share new Joggles products and today is one of those fun MidWeek Muse days. Houses are a special theme for me and our newest Joggles products reflect how near and dear to my heart houses are. Today I’m thrilled to share Joggles Wonky Wool Felt Houses!
There are 3 house shapes and 3 colorways for each, all made from lovely National NonWovens Wool Felt, and all just a little wonky, with doors and windows that are not quite square, embellishments that are not totally perfect, and stitching that’s not completely straight. In short, they’re perfectly imperfect! We’ve cut the various parts – houses, roofs, windows and doors – so the tedious work has been done, leaving you with the best part: embellishing them. In the video you’ll see me use Texture Paste, Ideaology bits, flowers and buttons to gussy up the houses. And you’ll see me use some of Caron’s hand dyed threads to do some simple stitching. And I promise you can do that stitching too. It’s really easy and I demo it for you.
Know what else you’ll see? Samples made by my good friends Christen Brown and Margaret Applin. Each of these talented women work quite differently and you’ll be amazed at how fabulous their houses look. And, I’ve brought in Christen’s books in case you would like to try her techniques.
