In today’s video you’ll see me work with Gel Press Plates, getting them up and off the surface of my work bench and using them like a stamp. I enjoy monoprinting and being able to adhere a Gel Press Plate to a clear acrylic mount allows me to use them in a completely different way.
The same techniques you use when a plate is sitting on a surface work when you use one like a stamp, so feel free to explore your favorite patterning and printing options.
In the video you’ll hear me mention that the largest size clear acrylic mount that we have is 9″ x 9″, but I have an update: the largest we have at the moment is 9″ x 11″, which will perfectly fit your 8″ x 10″ plates. There is a link to the Clear Acrylic Mounts in the supply section, right under the video.
I hope you have fun exploring ways to stamp with your Gel Press Plates!

Brilliant! Totally solves the problem of how to use those Gel Press Plates in a journal, which is what I’ve been trying to figure out. Thank you!!
Well, dear girl, you hit it out of the park today, big time!
Of course I had to order even after promising myself I’d be good for the whole month of June. Didn’t even make it for 24 hours thanks to your video.
Ah, such fun.
Thanks for the inspiration and the goodies to make it happen.

I love the small circle Gel press, what size acrylic did you use? I’m so happy that you have already cut the sizes! I will purchase some! Another tip is to make a masking tape handle for the back of the acrylic!
Hi Tracy,
The 4″ x 4″ Acrylic Mount will work with the circle in the Petites set.
