Virginia is back again today, this time with a fun project that uses her fun Zombies and characters. Her sense of humor is evident in this project, as is her creative talent!
Supplies:
1 Sheet Printable Magnet
Colored Pencils or Markers
Ranger Archival Ink – Black or StazOn
Rubber Stamps: Joggles/Virginia England – The Zombie Crystal, The Zombie Hopper, Milton and Oscar
Assorted Alphabet Stamps
This is pretty simple. Stamp the images onto the white side of the Magnet Sheet, using Black Ranger Archival Ink.
I will say coloring on this product is not ideal. I started using colored pencils. But discovered they did not blend very well using my usual method of blending with low odor mineral spirits. So I switched to Alcohol Markers. The markers are what I used to color the images. But if you use Alcohol Markers be careful close to the stamped lines as the Alcohol in the markers will case the Inked image to bleed…..UGGGGHHH!!!! Due to this I did not do any shading on these images. I’ll have to explore other methods for coloring this product.
Onward.
I felt that The Zombie Crystal looked like she needed coffee so I went with that for the text. I used a mixture of different Alphabet Stamps to spell out the words.
I partially cut around the image. I’ll confess here. I messed up the background. I was trying to add some background color using water-brushes. But it immediately soaked into the paper coating on the magnet. Not what I was looking for so I just scraped that idea and cut around the image. Good enough.
I left a straight edge on the bottom of The Zombie Hopper (he seemed too skinny to cut away any more than that) and Oscar.
Milton seemed wide enough to cut around the entire image.
And here is how they look on the fridge.
