Funky Flowers Note Cards, courtesy of Virginia England!
I like to make sets of Note Cards to give away as Thank You’s, a small Birthday gift to include with Birthday Cards I’m mailing or for just because. I generally make sets of 4. This time I’m using my Funky Flower designs. They are perfect for Note Cards. I’ve used 3 of the designs here…but any of them will work.
Supplies:
Rubber Stamps: Virginia England’s Funky Flowers – #1, #3 and #5…Although ANY of the Funky Flowers will work for this project. Just choose the one(s) you like
BoBunny Set 10105760…I used the “HI” from this set
Inkadinkado Throughts for the Day Set 60-30062…I used the “Smiles” and “Laugh” sentiments from this set
White Card Stock – cut to 3 3/4” x 5” pieces….number will depend on how many note cards you plan to make for the set….I usually make 4 per set
Colored Card Stock – cut to 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”….scored and folded down the middle to make 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” note cards….Or purchased plain note cards
Colored Pencils and/or Markers
Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade
Pitt Pens
Sharpie White Paint Pen – Fine Point
Ribbon
ScorTape
Double sided Transfer Tape
For the Pink Cards I’ve used Virginia England’s Funky Flower #3.
Stamp Design onto 4 pieces (or onto however many Note Cards you plan to have in your set) of the White Card Stock….I used a Stamp Positioner to stamp the images onto the Card Stock so they would all be aligned the same.
Next I used a fine tipped Pitt Pen to draw a rough border around the edge.
Color images with colored pencils…I colored mine in Pink to match the Note Card Color.
Cut pieces of Ribbon about 2” wider than the White Card Stock. Apply Scor Tape to the back side of the Ribbon. Attach Ribbon across the Card Stock at the bottom of the Flower.
I used the “Smiles” Stamp from the Inkadinkado Set “Thoughts for the Day”. I stamped the sentiment below the Ribbon…Again I used a Stamp Positioner to do this.
Using ScorTape or Double Sided Transfer Tape attach the White Card Stock to the Note Card.
For the Blue Note Cards I used Virginia England’s Funky Flower #1 and Markers to color the images.
I used the “HI” sentiment from the BoBunny Set 10105760 and stamped it in the upper lefthand corner
I “distressed” the edges of the White Card Stock using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade.
I drew a few sketchy lines around the edges for a border.
Attached the White Card Stock to the Note Card using Double Sided Transfer Tape (or ScorTape if you prefer)
Added a Bow on the Flower Stem and called it done.
I followed the same procedure for the Yellow Note Cards with the exception of using both colored pencils and markers to color them.
I used the Sharpie Paint Pen to add some dots on the petals.
I used a Fine Tipped Pitt Pen to add some dots to the stem.
Tie them up in bundles with ribbon or twine and they are ready for gift giving.

Thank you Gracie
What an awesome gift idea! I love your stamps and creating notecard sets is a fabulous way to use them. I like how clean and crisp these are, allowing the flowers to take center stage.
Thanks Bonnie…coming from you that is quite a compliment.
Beautiful cards!!
Thank you Patricia
