Evolon is not a new product, but is fairly recent in the paint, ink, printmaking, and mixed media creative arenas. If there previously was a US distributor I was unable to figure out who they were. That all changed a few weeks ago and now that I have a reliable source for Evolon, I expect it to be a regular product on the website. And in my studio.
What can you do with Evolon?
The quicker answer might be what you can’t do with it. Evolon accepts paint, ink sprays (including glimmer ones like Starburst Sprays), pens and markers. In the video you’ll see test sheets I created for a number of different products and how they work on Evolon. It’s paper-like in many ways though the surface is not super smooth; it feels almost like suede.
Evolon doesn’t ravel when cut, so you can add decorative edges and they’ll continue to hold the pattern. You can easily stitch through the product and it would be great as book pages, would look great as a spine wrap, or could even be used to add extra support when stitching a binding.
We’re offering Evolon with a 20% introductory special discount so you can give it a try. I think you’re going to like the product and the things you can do with it!
