Now that the initial roar about Distress Oxide Ink Pads has quieted a bit, and we have ample stock, I took some time to play and see how I could incorporate them into my work.
Because we’ve had two releases of our Itty Bitty ATC Stencils in the last few months I’ve spend a fair amount of time creating ATCs, which is the direction I went in for today’s video. Bear in mind that everything you see me do on that smaller scale is transferable to a larger piece; an art journal page, card, or some other mixed media creation.
Layers are one of the most important aspects of the kinds of mixed media art I create. They provide depth and visual interest. In the video you’ll see options for creating multiple layers using the Oxides, stamps, and stencils. Top layers include stamped images and bits like Tim’s Small Talk stickers.
Distress Oxide Inks are versatile and what you see here only scratches the surface of the ways to incorporate them into our art. They’re a worthy addition to your studio and creative processes!
