Welcome to Wednesday and the debut of the newest MidWeek Muse video which features the June and July spreads from my Creativity Calendar Journal.
Both of these months feature something a little different that I had real fun with. Until June and July I’d always used 1 1/2″ squares for my days and while I like that look, I felt like it was time for something a little different.
“Something a little different” ended up being to use shaped punches for the days. June saw me use a scalloped circle that I transformed into flowers and for July, I used stars. Working with those shapes instead of squares was a lot of fun and I had a particularly good time embellishing June’s flowers. Think “liberal doses of Stickles” and you’ll be on the right track! Stickles have become my go to embellishment lately and I really love the look; it appeals to my inner magpie.

Lindy’s Starburst Sprays – For the WARM colorway I used Cana Lily Burnt Orange, Autumn Maple Crimson, Wild Honeysuckle Coral, and Pretty In Pink Pink
For the COOL colorway I used Delphinium Turquoise, Cathedral Pines Green, Maidenhair Fern Green, Shabby Turbine Teal, Edelweiss Moss Green
Lindy’s Moon Shadow Mists – For the WARM colorway I used Moonlit Mulberry and Crow’s Nest Copper For the COOL colorway – none
Dylusions Ink Sprays – For the WARM colorway I used Funky Fuchsia and Pomegranate Seed for the COOL colorway I used Fresh Lime and After Midnight
Color Wash Sprays – For the WARM colorway I used Sunset Orange and Wild Plum For the COOL colorway I used Stream
Punches – for June I used the Marvy Uchida 1 1/2″ Scalloped Circle and the Martha Stewart Cherry Blossoms border punch. For July I used the EK Success 1 1/2″ Star
