The impetus behind our new Watercolor Art Parts and Sentiments is pretty simple: convenience. I like the idea of having precut shapes ready to go when I’m ready to create.
I will confess to being an absolute luddite when it comes to die cutting. There are too many parts and shims and spacers and platforms, ad infinitum it seems. With Art Parts and Art Sentiments, the shapes and words are simple to remove from the sheet with the snip of a few little tabs.
Watercolor paper is what I consider a perfect surface; it’s absorbent and works beautifully with ink sprays, paint, and pretty much any of the products I tend to reach for. It’s 140#, so it’s also very sturdy. It does pretty much anything I ask of it which is another reason we use it for these new Art Parts and Sentiments.
Versatility is another trait I admire and as you’ll see in the video, both Watercolor Sentiments and Art Parts are versatile virtuosos. I might actually make more cards now that it’s so simple to assemble the parts into a pretty whole!
Debuting today are 11 Watercolor Art Parts and 2 Watercolor Sentiments. You’ll see them all in the video as I demo ways to add color and pattern, along with examples of how I used them. Let that be your jumping off point… there are way more options than what I could cram into one video!

These look great! great idea for a new product and to save us from fussy cutting out the bird legs!
I’d bet by using to gel or matte medium on the outlines you could extend the life of the remaining stencils.
Thanks Terry.. and yes, I bet that would work, thanks for the suggestion!
Wow! You guys are marketing genius machines. Art parts and sentiments are fabulous focal points. Love how you can water color, spray and doodle. Absolutely Fantastic. Kudos!!!!!
Thank you Mary!
Love these art parts. To make the negative space in your art parts last longer, apply a layer of gel medium over the entire thing when you’ve removed the individual parts. Will last a lot longer that way!
