Creating With Stamperia Rice Paper Sheets & Napkins
      March 7, 2018

One of the most remarkable things about the Stamperia Rice Paper products, aside from the wonderful imagery featured on them, is the absolute clarity with which they’re printed.  Everything is bright and beautiful, with nice crisp edges and lines.  The imagery runs the gamut from florals to vintage items (and everything in between!) and it’s made all the better by the quality of the rice paper and how the various elements have been combined to produce a collection that’s just marvelous.

To say I was taken with these two products, the A4 sheets and the square napkins, might be one of the larger understatements in recent memory.  I liked it so much that I wiped out a bunch of the styles, leaving the distributor with none in a  lot of cases.  Yes, I love them that much, but there’s another reason I bought in such large quantities…

We’re offering them at introductory pricing of 20% off, beginning today.  Yes, I know technically we’ve already had a few of both sizes so in the strictest sense this isn’t the first introduction to them, but work with me here.  It’s as close to an introductory sale as I’m gonna get and 20% off is nothing to sneeze at!

In the video you’ll see me work in one of the black Dylusions square journals – the Rice Paper elements look fabulous on black!  You’ll also see me layer an element on black and cut it in a way to create a narrow black border which sets it off nicely too.

If you then think of these papers in the more traditional decoupage sense you’ll see just how versatile they are.  There really isn’t much you can’t do with them.

Great tip applying Stickles on and around wrinkles.
Beutiful rice paper, and thanks for the introductory discount! Hope this 2nd Nor’easter doesn’t hit you too hard. Here in Maine, along the southern coast, we may get up to 20″! The lion has definitely roared its way into March!

      Hello,
I couldn’t hear what you were saying because of the music. Is this going to be a permanent feature ? Hope not because I have learnt so much from your tutorials.

Hi Barbara – thee was no music playing in the video. I have never featured it and have no plans to. It had to have been coming from somewhere else; perhaps you had another window with a video playing.

      Barb,
Just subscribed to your newsletter although i’ve Watched many of your videos on You Tube. Always good to watch. I’m just waiting for the Stamperia flamingo plus one or two other papers to arrive and second you comments on the beauty of them. I already have quite a few designs. The mantra in the UK is always use the water brush and tear so I was quite surprised to see your cutting out method! You must have cornered the market with the butterflies as not on offer here.

      Question–Maybe a dumb one, but—–Here goes—-

Have you ever tried applying the rice paper designs to fabric?? Is there a medium that might stay flexible enough to allow it to survive??
By the way, —Love your videos!!!
      Thanks,
      Elaine

I haven’t tried to use the paper on fabric. In terms of an adhesive to use with fabric, most will not withstand repeated laundering. If your project is more of an art piece that will not get wet, you should be able to use the Dina Wakley Gel Medium like I did in the video. I think it will flex enough to work. It certainly doesn’t crack on journal pages when they’re flexed.

          Good morning!
I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about this idea. Thought that maybe, if I stuck it to a piece of felt, that the felt would take the movement and protect the paper a little. Yes, this would be a wall hanging. I quilt, but have this thing about dimension. (I love it!)
Boy, you are up early this morning!! ggg

            Morning Elaine!
I think the felt would be an extra layer you might not need, but give it a try with and without. It’s always the experimentation that provides the answers. :+)
I’m up early every morning. My brain refuses to let me sleep!
