Pressure, when applied to paint that’s between two solid layers of a non-porous surface like acrylic, causes it to spread out. What happens when the two layers are separated is where the dendritic-like effects come into being. Often compared to tree branches or coral, these delicate designs can be printed on a variety of surfaces and make marvelous layers or focal images.
Combine that process with metallic or sparkly paint and fantastic things happen!

Hi Barb!
Very interesting results! Don’t know if you’ve messed with other paints for the same result you have here so my Question would be will the tendrils or veins also appear with this technique with other types of thinner paint? I can see technique used with different background settings. Thanks for dgg Hf sting your ingenuity!!
OMG finally a way to create my own underwater world.
Also, forest for faires, hidden forest creatures and an endless parade of delicate and much usable works of art.
WOW…thanks so much.

Really nice technique. Reminds me of the ice that forms on windows in the winter! Bet it would look nice in pearl white of lt blue.
I can see using a crystal glitter paint and making snowflakes. So many possibilities!
