Earlier this year, while attending CHA in California, I had the opportunity to meet Christine while she was working in the Prima booth.
Her art is a reflection of her as a person; quite lovely. She’s bright and engaging, very kind, and talented as all get out. Margaret and I chatted with her for a while and we came away from the booth eagerly anticipating the Rub Ons. My head was spinning with possibilities for using them. The most obvious choice is with foil, but what intrigued me the most was the idea of using glitter, given my affinity for the stuff.
In today’s video you’ll see the basics of how to use the Rub Ons with iCraft Deco Foil and Elizabeth Crafts Silk Microfine Glitter. I’ll also show a sample I made using embossing powder, which is applied in the same way as glitter, then heated to melt the powder.
The imagery you’ll see in the Rub Ons is really, really nice. Christine is adept at combining elements to make collage styled graphics that are perfect for many kind of projects from home décor to cards, art journals, and many mixed media type creations.
Best of all is how simple they are to use, which I’ll demo in the video. I hope you have fun!

That looks like fun. The fact that the rub-ons can be used on a variety of smooth surfaces and can then be highlighted with a variety of products (glitters, foils, powders, etc) makes it very versatile. Obviously didn’t need to tell you that, but that makes it a most impressive product.
Nice projects, Barb. Like these adhesive foil designs. Glad you showed how to use them with the foil, glitter and emb powder. You didn’t heat the emb powder. Assumably it doesn’t have to be heat set, right?
Ooops. I meant adhesive rub on designs. 🙂
You do have to heat the embossing powder so it melts in place, but there is no heat setting required for the Adhesive Rub Ons in general.
