Our Index Cards to Art Journal inspiration continues today with a project by Cat Kerr.
She begins by tea dyeing the Index Cards themselves, plus some fabric and trim scraps, giving it all a timeworn, vintage look. The Index Cards are 140# watercolor paper, so they easily stand up to being soaked in the tea solution.
The addition of Marabu’s Aqua Ink further ages the pages and then it’s time to think about adding pattern and texture to them. Cat uses her Foam Stamps plus some metallic paint and the simple stamping really adds to the overall look. Then it’s on to the pages themselves, using printed elements, some of the ones she dyed, plus random other bits.
The video runs just under 7 minutes and is well worth your time. If you’re looking for some weekend inspiration, I think you’ll find it here!
