Stencils are one of my most reached for tools and I’m always looking for new and inspirational designs. Enter Margaret Applin and the sixteen styles debuting today. All but two are 6″ x 9″, so perfect for many types of projects.
The other two are unique in that they were designed to fit the 8″ Round Gel Press Plate and are named Plated Floral #1 and Plated Flora #2. With them you can create pretty floral prints that take advantage of the round plate shape. Of course you’re not limited to working in the round; they’re useful for all kinds of square or rectangular projects too.
Not to be left out of the spotlight, there are also rectangular designs that are similar to the Plated Florals. We named the Floral Frame #1-4 and as you’ll see they’re pretty awesome too.
You’ll also notice that the imagery in some of the others coordinate. There’s Bud Toss, Bud Vines, and Bud Variety that all feature very similar shaped flowers and leaves, allowing you to maximize your creative options. Having elements that are similar means you create continuity with no real effort.
Check out the two named Rosettes #1 and #2 for mandala-like deigns. Spray and outline. Trace with a pen and color, or do what Margaret has been experimenting with: spritz color through the round shape onto fabric, let it dry, then stitch the shapes. If you can think it, you probably can do it!
