This stencil design is an ink blot test. Everyone is going to see something different which is cool. Even better is whatever colors, medium, or technique you use, you can push these little squiggle-splats in different directions. Baby pink and other pastels go toward drifting flowers. Neons go right to paintball splats. Given the right situation they can be drifting leaves or even wallpaper. Tone-on-tone is awesome whether you do creams, tans, greys, or others -- you can use pastels or even clear embossing to get this effect. Personally I go toward the official name of this stencil with amoeba. Halloween texture is a given. But how about beakers or jars full of glow-in-the-dark amoeba or even horrific grungy shapes found in a mad scientist's lab or on a comic get well card. And how about a fish tank with some of those funny/creepy fish stamps available? I refuse to buy anything that only does one thing. This stencil delivers opportunities in abundance!
A note: the little lobes of these shapes are fragile. You need to store them in the original packaging or something similar to keep from snagging on other stencils or the stuff on your working surface. I've bent a few of mine and kind of got them to lie flat again. A little extra care and attention and there will be no problems. Rating:
