Evolon is not a new product, but is fairly recent in the paint, ink, printmaking, and mixed media\u00a0creative arenas.\u00a0 If there previously was a US distributor I was unable to figure out who they were.\u00a0 That all changed a few weeks ago and now that I have a reliable source for Evolon, I expect it to be a regular product on the website.\u00a0 And in my studio.<\/p>\n
What can you do with Evolon?<\/p>\n
The quicker answer might be what you can’t do with it.\u00a0 Evolon accepts paint, ink sprays (including glimmer ones like Starburst Sprays), pens and markers.\u00a0 In the video you’ll see test sheets I created for a number of different products and how they work on Evolon.\u00a0 It’s paper-like in many ways though the surface is not super smooth; it feels almost like suede.<\/p>\n
Evolon doesn’t ravel when cut, so you can add decorative edges and they’ll continue to hold the pattern.\u00a0 You can easily stitch through the product and it would be great as book pages, would look great as a spine wrap, or could even be used to add extra support when stitching a binding.<\/p>\n
