Until I decided to film this video most of my work with alcohol inks focused on drops of color on a surface; allowing them to bloom\u00a0and then how to manipulate them.\u00a0 Today I’m switching gears and working with more abstract techniques that allow the ink to flow and move, usually with a bit of direction from canned air, a brush,\u00a0or gravity.\u00a0 This departure proved to be an interesting exercise and I really like the results of my time working in this manner.<\/p>\n
Don’t let the idea of creating abstract art be daunting.\u00a0 There’s not anything terribly difficult about any of what I’m doing other than that the techniques are different than how I usually work.\u00a0 Like anything new, it takes practice to get to the point where you love what you create.\u00a0 My advice, as always, is to keep at it.\u00a0 The more you do the more proficient you’ll become!<\/p>\n
