Who doesn’t like the idea of finding new uses for the tools we already own?\u00a0 Given the number of stencils in my studio –\u00a0and I’m guessing you’re like me – that you probably own a fair number\u00a0too, discovering another option for using them is pretty exciting.<\/p>\n
Like a lot of the things I happen upon, this one resulted from me not putting the supplies for one project away before beginning on the next.\u00a0 Stuff piled up and I ended up with the paper I was using to brayer excess paint off on sitting on top of a stencil.\u00a0 When I rolled the brayer on the paper I realized that I was seeing a faint impression of the stencil appear, almost magically.<\/p>\n
I further discovered that the thinner the paper the better the impression, so out came my deli paper.\u00a0 It doesn’t get much thinner than that and the\u00a0prints were even better.\u00a0 You’ll see me demo exclusively on it because it provides the best results.\u00a0 And because when applied to a surface with gel medium it becomes so translucent that areas without color pretty much disappear.<\/p>\n
