I really like making prints with a Gel Press Plate.\u00a0 Paint, stencils, and other tools come together to create something that stands alone or can be used as part of another project.\u00a0 The printmaking process is fun and easy, and like those chips we all can’t each just one of, it’s hard to stop making prints at just a few.<\/p>\n
Stencils are one of my most often used tools when making prints, though there are other options for making marks in the paint, including rubber stamps.\u00a0 The issue with stamps is that the designs are generally smaller than the 8″ x 10″ plate I prefer and it takes a lot of pressing the stamp into the paint then stamping it off elsewhere to either cover the 8″ x 10 surface or a\u00a0lot of it.\u00a0 It can be done, but I wanted to make the process\u00a0more streamlined\u00a0with less applications of the stamp.<\/p>\n
