{"id":685,"date":"2015-12-21T08:51:23","date_gmt":"2015-12-21T13:51:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/?p=685"},"modified":"2015-12-21T08:51:23","modified_gmt":"2015-12-21T13:51:23","slug":"a-peek-at-the-2016-art-journal-adventure","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/a-peek-at-the-2016-art-journal-adventure\/","title":{"rendered":"A Peek At The 2016 Art Journal Adventure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the last couple of weeks&#8217; Sunday newsletters I have mentioned the 2016 Art Journal Adventure, a year-long project that will kick off on Wednesday January 6, 2016.\u00a0 My goal is to create a page or page spread once a week for the entire year.<\/p>\n<p>The AJA kicks off on the 6th,\u00a0with a video tutorial that outlines my plan for the project, my choice of journal (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dylusions-ink-sprays-by-dyan-reaveley\/dylusions-creative-journal-square-kraft.htm\">Dylusions Square Kraft Journal<\/a>), and complete details about how I created the first page spread.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/2016-aja-1.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-690\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-tPU0KZkk\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-690\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/2016-aja-1-300x261.jpg\" alt=\"2016 AJA\" width=\"300\" height=\"261\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What you see here is one half of that first spread as I wanted to give everyone some sense of where I&#8217;m going.\u00a0 The video explains the process to create the\u00a0spread so anyone who would like to use the techniques can.\u00a0 Your pages and spreads do not need to look like mine of course, so deviate as much as you&#8217;d like.\u00a0 The AJA is about creating, in whatever shape or form you wish, using the theme, prompt, or suggestion for that week.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequent AJA\u00a0blog posts will happen on Mondays, with the second one due on Monday the 11th.\u00a0\u00a0Each week I will do&#8230; something.\u00a0 Demo a technique.\u00a0 Work using a prompt.\u00a0 Explore a theme.\u00a0 I have lots of ideas to share to get you working in your own 2016 AJA journal.<\/p>\n<p>The second week&#8217;s theme is working in a grid, which is really simple to do.\u00a0 <em>How<\/em> you interpret that gridded theme is where the fun really happens as I expect there will be lots of variation on the grids.\u00a0 Large blocks or small?\u00a0 Evenly sized and spaced or not?\u00a0 Color inside of the blocks?\u00a0 Outside of them?\u00a0 As you can see, even with a simple idea like working in a grid there are many directions to go in.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m considering creating a gallery of photos of my own page spreads and samples all of you send.\u00a0 I would love it if this project turns into something big, with lots of folks participating and sending photos for me to post in the gallery.\u00a0 I need nice, crisp photos of at least 500 pixels wide, but no larger than 700 pixels in either direction.<\/p>\n<p>I hope you&#8217;ll join in the fun and am looking forward to seeing your work.<\/p>\n<p>Barb<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the last couple of weeks&#8217; Sunday newsletters I have mentioned the 2016 Art Journal Adventure, a year-long project that will kick off on Wednesday January 6, 2016.\u00a0 My goal is to create a page or page spread once a [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":689,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"jetpack_post_was_ever_published":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_access":"","_jetpack_dont_email_post_to_subs":false,"_jetpack_newsletter_tier_id":0,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":{"0":"post-685","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-uncategorized"},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.6 -
