Several weeks ago, my sister and brother-in-law celebrated their 50th anniversary (I know, right!) and their kids rented a limo to take the &#8220;fam&#8221; out for the evening. My niece&#8217;s husband made a play list of music from the early years of my sister and BIL&#8217;s \u00a0marriage and we had a rip roaring game of Name That Tune and a group sing-a-long both coming and going. We all had a blast! What struck me then was how timeless music really is&#8230; there were three generations singing along to Queen, Neil Diamond, and the Jackson Five \ud83d\ude42 I was also reminded of the power of music to instantly transport me back to another place and time. This sparked the prompt for <strong>Week\u00a020<\/strong> which is <strong>Music.<\/strong> This could be a page inspired by a particular song, by music in general, or (like I did) incorporating sheet music into the background.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9751.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-B8MplyBv\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5894\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9751.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"562\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I began with a page of sheet music removed from an old book. This was spritzed with Sassy Sapphire, Drop Dead Gorgeous Green, and Freaky FrankenLime Lindy&#8217;s Stamp Gang Two Toned Starburst Sprays. Once dry, this piece was adhered to a 7.5 x 10 inch rectangle of card stock to add strength to the thin music paper.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9755.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-B8MplyBv\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5895\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9755.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"644\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I wanted a reference to time so I scraped Ranger Texture Paste through The Crafter&#8217;s Workshop Time Travel stencil spreading the clocks out throughout the page. The Texture Paste picks up some of the Lindy&#8217;s so once dry, I re-placed the stencil and pounced white gesso over each clock to brighten the paste. It&#8217;s a stencil with delicate lines and they needed to be whiter\u00a0to be seen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9757.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-B8MplyBv\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5896\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9757.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"560\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Forget-Me-Not Archival Ink was applied through the openings of the Joggles Mini Bubble Blast Itty Bitty ATC stencil to add texture and depth in several places.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9753.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-B8MplyBv\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5897\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9753.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"510\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I had found a quote about music which perfectly captured my thoughts so that was printed on white card stock and cut into segments. A digital image of a girl deep in thought was sized to fit and printed, then fussy cut, and matted with black.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9776.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-B8MplyBv\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5900\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9776.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"408\" height=\"700\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Black Diamond Stickles was added to her dress dots and if you squinch up your eyes you might be able to see her sparkles..LOL. She was adhered to the page using foam squares to add dimension and clip art piano keys were printed so she would have something to stand on. Everything was fussy cut and matted with black.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9759.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-B8MplyBv\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5899\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9759.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"664\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A note stamp was loaded with Versamark ink and stamped onto black card stock several times. Clear embossing powder was added to the Versamark and then the notes were heat set. Once they were fussy cut, they were ready to be added to the page with Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9774.jpg\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-B8MplyBv\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5901\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/DSCN9774.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"515\" height=\"700\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>To complete the page, a simple border was doodled around the edges. It was then adhered to the black background which is common to all of my pages in this art journal. You know how some pages make you really happy just looking at them? This is one of those pages for me &#8230;not because it&#8217;s outstanding art but because of the memories it brings back and because of its simplicity and the joy with which it was created.<\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s your turn to be inspired by music and find a way to incorporate a reference to it into your page.
