When I first began to work with Pebeo’s Fantasy Paints my focus was on acrylic shapes,\u00a0chipboard,\u00a0and the\u00a0Liquid Art Panels.\u00a0 I played and explored, learning about how the paints\u00a0behave individually and how they react with each other.\u00a0 Along the way I created a number of book cover sets and innumerable smaller chipboard and acrylic pieces.\u00a0\u00a0 Practice, practice, practice till you get better is what I try to do.\u00a0 So I spent a lot of time and eventually became comfortable working with the paints.<\/p>\n
One important characteristic of them is that they’re multi-surface.\u00a0 That’s why they work so well with the acrylic book covers and other shapes.<\/p>\n
Along with the time spent playing with the paint, I also spent time researching how other artists used them and one thing I quickly discovered was that there were other surfaces, many of them, aside from the ones I’d been working with.\u00a0 Most interesting of all was the idea that I could use the paints with objects I could convert into fantastic embellishments.\u00a0 Pretty much anything with a lip to corral the paint is perfect.\u00a0 Even deep objects can be used, so long as you fill most of the void with something else so you’re not trying to fill it with the paint.<\/p>\n
With the paint being multi-surface there are no real restrictions, meaning I could use it with lots of metal bits, particularly with Frank Garcia’s Memory Hardware and some of Tim’s Ideaology parts.<\/p>\n
In today’s video you’ll see me work with these other, 3D style, shapes and pieces.\u00a0 I’ll explain how I pour the paint in them and how to deal with that void space when you have\u00a0one that is fairly deep.\u00a0 At the end of the video I also provide a brief explanation of how to mix Ice Resin and how layer it over the cured paint (wait 7 days!) to protect the surface and how a second pour will create a more exaggerated dome.<\/p>\n
I love working with the Fantasy Paint and with Ice Resin.\u00a0 These pieces allowed me to combine both of those products and to create some pretty fantastic arty pieces.<\/p>\n
