Today’s video is about art journaling, but the reverse of how I usually create. Rather than working on light colored pages, I’ve taken the plunge and am working in the new Dylusions Square Black Journal. And rather than working in color, I decided to work only in white and black. I love a challenge!<\/p>\n
Interestingly enough, that doesn’t only mean white marks on a black page. Think about it for a moment… if you create a white area on a black page you have a place where you can revert back to the “norm” of black ink on a white area. In the video I show you options for working both ways and doing it with a limited range of supplies. As much fun as throwing the kitchen sink of supplies on a page is, I discovered that it’s nearly as much fun to be somewhat restrained.<\/p>\n
This was my first chance to work in the new square journals and I was not disappointed. The pages are nice and sturdy and the journal includes a string tie envelope mounted to the inside front cover so you can store paper and other bits. Like all of the Dylusions journals, it also has an elastic closure to hold everything closed. Journals tend to expand as we add things to the pages, so the closure is a nice feature.<\/p>\n
