I’m just home after having been away for two weeks.\u00a0 Bonnie filled in for me\u00a0during Week 37 (thanks Bonnie!) and I created Week 38’s page while I was away and working on some other projects.\u00a0 This week?\u00a0 Though there was way less pressure and I had more time, I kept coming up empty.<\/p>\n

I tried to get started a couple of times and wasn’t making much of what might be described as progress, no matter what I did or thought about doing.\u00a0 Some of the time I think inertia is the biggest enemy of creativity.\u00a0 I’d done the stuff I needed to the prior week and the page sprang from that work I needed<\/em> to get done.\u00a0 This week I didn’t really have<\/em> to accomplish something specific and found myself floundering for ideas.<\/p>\n

So I decided pink would be today’s prompt.\u00a0 Yep, just pink.\u00a0 It’s your choice.\u00a0 Make the page background pink as I did.\u00a0 Or make your focal image or element pink.\u00a0 Or make it all pink!\u00a0 Just use pink in some fashion.<\/p>\n

I started by using a bottle bottom and some Matte Medium to make circles that would resist the color.<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-39-2\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Once they were dry I sprinkled Merlot Color Burst powder<\/a>Merlot Color Burst powder<\/a> on the dry page.<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-39-3\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And spritzed it with water.\u00a0 Interesting that the color is really a blend of several, isn’t it?<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-39-4\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I ended up adding more water which spread and diluted the color\u00a0a bit, though the blue is still quite obvious.<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-39-5\"<\/a><\/p>\n

You can see the circles where the Matte Medium resisted the color.\u00a0 Along with the pencil is a 2″ x 3″ Clear Acrylic Mount<\/a>\u00a0that I decided to use as a template.\u00a0 I wanted to make\u00a0spaces where I could kind of frame them, though I had no idea what else I wanted to do.<\/p>\n

Squint, look closely, and you’ll see the rectangles.\u00a0 Some are arranged horizontally and others vertically.<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-39-7\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Usually I would use a S (superfine) Black PITT Pen<\/a>, but for this page I decided to go with the F – Fine tip<\/a> instead.\u00a0 Rather than trace around with acrylic with the PITT pen, I just casually outlined the rectangles, in some cases deliberately tracing way outside of the pencil lines.<\/p>\n

The center looked a bit bare, so I added an oval and then began to embellish it abdthe rectangles…<\/p>\n

With a variety of doodles.<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-39-10\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And began to fill in the shapes.<\/p>\n

Did some more, then began to run out of ideas…<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-39-12\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And ended up here.\u00a0 There’s nothing spectacular to say about this page other than it’s done.<\/p>\n

And some of the time, that’s enough!<\/p>\n
