I’m creating this accordion book in a slightly different way; one which allows me to create a book of virtually any length and with seams that are barely discernible.<\/p>\n
Typically an accordion book’s length is either limited by the longest side of a large piece of paper or by how many smaller lengths are joined together. And while either of those methods are workable, they each have limitations; too short a finished book or overlapped seams that are noticeable.<\/p>\n
My solution? To use Kraft paper as a base to allow for just about any length desired, and because we’re using a base the seams between the pieces of watercolor paper do not need to be overlapped. Once color is applied those seams become almost undetectable, which I find to be a big improvement. Some of the time the smallest details can provide the biggest payback and I think this is one.<\/p>\n
What is also unusual about this accordion book is the style I created it in, which I think of as Urban Grunge. You’ll see me use the same colors as usual, but with the addition of black (lots of black!) and the choice of some Kaisercraft texture stamps used to add patterning to the background, the look and feel of the project is decidedly different from my norm.<\/p>\n
