Having previously worked with Heidi Swapp’s Color Shine sprays, I more or less knew what to expect when I began to use them; that the colors would be intense and more or less opaque and that they’re mostly permanent.\u00a0 What was different are the new colors, 9 of them, released in early to mid-2016.\u00a0 Within the new group are both warm and cool colors, plus “Sheer” that is a really pretty gold shimmery color that’s suspended in a mostly clear spray.<\/p>\n
Unlike a dye based spray like Dylusions or Distress Spray Stains, Color Shine are pigment\u00a0based and this is what makes them mostly opaque.\u00a0 That\u00a0pigment makes for a quite different appearance when you apply them to a surface and interestingly enough, for some real fun effects when combined with a dye based spray.\u00a0 You see striations of the clear dye spray meld and begin to blend with the Color Shine pigment and mica powder.\u00a0 Apply enough of both and you can tip the piece and cause runs, drips, and assorted other patterns.<\/p>\n
If you’re looking for new products to experiment with I think you’ll enjoy Color Shine.\u00a0 The range of colors is great, plus\u00a0they glimmer and look terrific on black.\u00a0 What more could you ask for??<\/p>\n
