Hi Everyone! \u00a0It’s Nadya<\/a> here today. This spring I started using the Create 365 My Happy Planner. I loved the idea of being able to add paper to the planner so I had to get the Classic Paper Punch. This has opened up a whole new kind of\u00a0crafting for me!\u00a0I have been creating with Distress Stains for years and it amazes me how many more uses I keep finding for\u00a0them! I decided to make a cute mini notebook using the Classic Paper Punch and the mini discs and embellish the covers with some Distress Stains and gorgeous stamps.<\/p>\n

My Process:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I started\u00a0with the front and back covers. I used a Strathmore 300 Series Watercolor Paper – 9″ x 12″ 140# Cold Pressed\u00a0sheet, cutting two 4\u201dx5\u201d pieces from it. Using Tim Holtz Distress Stains – Peacock Feathers, Shabby\u00a0Shutters, Salty Ocean, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry\u00a0& Squeezed Lemonade, I dabbed a bit of each colour onto my Inkssentials\u00a0NonStick Craft Sheet.<\/p>\n

Using a watercolour brush (round 6), I dipped the brush in water first, then into one colour at a time, and\u00a0started playing!<\/p>\n

\"photo3\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As I added colours to the paper, I also added water so the colours began\u00a0to blend both on the paper and on the mat. It’s important to take your time in order to allow the colours to mix.\u00a0The great thing about Tim Holtz colours is they always compliment each other. It really doesn\u2019t matter\u00a0which colours you choose, they always go together. Repeat with the other piece of watercolour paper. Let\u00a0the papers completely dry.<\/p>\n

I decided to create\u00a0the mini book after I saw the Joggles\/ Margaret Applin Designs Cling Mounted Rubber\u00a0Stamp – Bird Collage. I thought it would make a great cover design. Using the Versamark Watermark Clear\u00a0Ink Pad, I stamped the image onto the center of one of the Distress stained 4\u201dx5\u201d watercolour papers. Working\u00a0quickly, I placed the stamped watercolor paper onto a sheet of scratch paper and then poured a liberal amount of Aged Taupe from the Stampendous\u00a0Frantage Vintage Embossing Enamel Kit over the stamped image.<\/p>\n

I tapped off the excess Frantage and the unused embossing powder remaining on the scratch paper was poured back into the container. Using the Ranger\u00a0Heat It Craft Tool and working over the NonStick craft sheet, I heated the embossing powder constantly moving the tool over the image until the powder began to react and puff up.<\/p>\n

I thought it would be nice to have\u00a0something pretty on the back cover as well, so I stamped and embossed it using Joggles\/ Margaret Applin Designs Cling\u00a0Mounted Rubber Stamp – Poeme Floral Border\u00a0and the same Frantage embossing powder which again was heat activated.<\/p>\n

I printed the phrase \u201c a little birdie told me\u201d onto white cardstock, cut each word out separately, and using Liquitex\u00a0Matte Medium, applied the wording to the front cover. After they were completely dry, I outlined each\u00a0word with a Micron black pen.<\/p>\n

Using the Create 365 Happy Planner\u2122 CLASSIC Paper Punch , I punched holes in the front & back\u00a0covers.<\/p>\n

\"photo9<\/a><\/p>\n

Then I punched a variety of papers for the inside, which were cut slightly smaller\u00a0than the 4 x 5 inch covers. What I like about this punch system is the ease of adding and removing paper from the book.<\/p>\n

Using 6 of the Create 365 Happy Planner\u2122 Gold Mini Discs, I placed the covers on first,\u00a0and then added the rest of the papers.<\/p>\n
