Up today from Virginia is a project that combines her Funky Flowers with my Jurassic Leaves\u2122, a combination that would never have occurred to me.\u00a0 Not today, tomorrow, or ever for that matter.\u00a0 Just anther reason to admire Virginia and her wonderful arty ideas!\u00a0 Here is her process…<\/p>\n

Supplies:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1 sheet 11 x 14 Mixed Media Paper
\n4 sheets Black Card Stock – Cut to 7 x 10 – Scored and Folded to make 5 x 7 Cards
\nBlack Paper or Card Stock
\nStencils – The Art of Brett Weldele – Ziggy Zag<\/a>
\nCircles – Unknown
\nTim Holtz Distress Ink Pads <\/a>– Peacock Feathers & Victorian Velvet
\nPitt Pens<\/a>
\nRubber Stamps:
\nJoggles – Jurassic Leaves #1<\/a>, #4,<\/a> #5<\/a> & #6<\/a>
\nVirginia England\u2019s Funky Flowers #5<\/a>, #6<\/a>, #8<\/a> & #9<\/a>
\nFiskars – Laugh with Me Set
\nMarkers – I used Spectrum Noir – CR4, PP3, GT2, GT3, BT3, BT5, BG3
\nTacky Glue<\/a>
\nClear Glue
\nClear or White Glitter<\/a>
\nPerfect Pearls <\/a>– Pink and Teal
\nScorTape<\/a> or Double Sided Transfer Tape<\/p>\n

I used a sheet of 11 x 14 Mixed Media Paper that I used for cleaning off my brayer when using my Gel Press. And cleaning off other items. This is the result. I decided I would use this sheet for these cards.<\/p>\n

I trimmed the edged then cut the sheet into 4 equal sections.
\n<\/span>Note: Trim them down to 4 1\/2\u201d x 6 1\/2\u201d….I didn\u2019t and ended up with cards that would not fit into a 5 x 7 envelope….uggggh!!!<\/span><\/p>\n

I colored (using Markers) and cut out the Jurassic Leaves and layered them onto Black Paper for a \u201cShadow\u201d. I placed the Jurassic Leaves on the Mixed Media pieces to see how they looked. I decided the backgrounds needed more texture.<\/span><\/p>\n

I added texture with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Victorian Velvet using The Art of Brett Weldele – Ziggy Zag Stencil and a Circles Stencil. Then I added a sketchy Border using a Pitt Pen. I was happier with this look.<\/span><\/p>\n

I colored the Funky Flowers using the Markers. Then added a \u201cshadow\u201d using Black Paper.<\/span><\/p>\n

Attach the Background pieces to the Black Card Stock Cards using ScorTape or Double Sided Transfer Tape. <\/span><\/p>\n

I arranged the Funky Flowers and Jurassic Leaves on each card until I was satisfied with the look. I glued the pieces down using Tacky Glue. I then Stamped Sentiments on the Cards and added some White Glitter using Clear Glue to the Flowers and Leaves. I also added some Perfect Pearls to the Jurassic Leaves.<\/span><\/p>\n
