The more I work with Sticky Snippets\u2122 the more potential I discover.<\/p>\n
Color, cut, use.\u00a0 Think.<\/p>\n
Color some more, cut up the shapes or use them as is, apply them to surfaces.<\/p>\n
The more I play, the more the ideas come.\u00a0\u00a0 Part of what I find so exciting about them is that almost limitless potential, where I can transform then into whatever a project needs.\u00a0 It also bears repeating (I said this in the first Sticky Snippets\u2122 video) that half the fun is in creating them and the other half is working with them.<\/p>\n
In today’s video I’m using sprays and watercolor powders to color the sheets.\u00a0 Along the way, I discovered that ink sprays provide a soft airy look if you apply them sparingly.\u00a0 Which is not to say that you can’t be generous and add a lot.\u00a0 You can and the look will change as you add more color, getting denser and covering all of the white space.<\/p>\n
As you’ll see in the video, most sprays behave differently on Sticky Snippets\u2122 than they do on watercolor paper or the types of paper you might use for a journal page.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Because Sticky Snippets\u2122 are not “art” paper, so\u00a0inks are\u00a0going to absorb into the surface very quickly.\u00a0 That’s not a bad thing, just different than what you may be used to.<\/p>\n
When you use the watercolor powders you’ll spritz them with water to activate the color.\u00a0 Bursts will form initially.\u00a0 Add more water and they’ll begin to blend together, creating a less busy look.<\/p>\n
I have used a lot of water on my Sticky Snippets\u2122 without affecting the adhesive.\u00a0 With that said, I either mop it up or get out the heat tool and dry the sheet right away.\u00a0 Don’t leave the water soaked into the paper for a long time as you may affect the adhesive.<\/p>\n
