2016 Art Journal Adventure &#8211; Week 20"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you watched the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/joggles-sticky-snippets\" target=\"_blank\">Sticky Snippets\u2122<\/a> video from last Wednesday (click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/introducing-joggles-sticky-snippets\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>) then you saw the beginnings of this week&#8217;s page.\u00a0 I was demoing what can be done with the background of the labels sheet and needed\u00a0a place to put the one I was working on.\u00a0 I cut\u00a0the sheet\u00a0to fit, edged the page in black, and put it in place.\u00a0 That left openings to fill with doodles which you&#8217;ll see as I go along with this post.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t have Sticky Snippets\u2122, the alternate prompt is to work\u00a0one shape within another.\u00a0 A circle in a square or vice versa.\u00a0 A star in a circle.\u00a0 A heart in a circle.\u00a0 Just pick a couple of shapes and fit one inside of the other, then see what you can do with what results.\u00a0 Mine ended up being the starburst shapes in the large square, which is what gave me the idea to begin with.\u00a0 You can make one large shape and add smaller ones to it, make lots of smaller ones, or whatever your muse suggests!<\/p>\n<p>If you want ideas for adding color and pattern to Sticky enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-1.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2548\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-A6BjuL5G\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2548\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-1.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week-20-1\" width=\"700\" height=\"471\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since I knew I the square I cut from the sheet of Sticky Snippets\u2122 was smaller than the page, I added a border with black paint.\u00a0 I was (reasonably) careful to keep the paint confined to the border so none would be visible in the openings.\u00a0 Masking off the edge of the page was the first step.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-2.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2549\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-A6BjuL5G\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2549\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-2.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week-20-2\" width=\"700\" height=\"468\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dylusions-paint-by-dyan-reaveley\/dylusions-paint-black-marble.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Black Marble Dylusions Paint <\/a>and one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/misc-stamp-mixed-media-supplies\/ranger-inkssentials-mini-ink-blending-tool-40965.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Mini Inkssentials Blending Tools<\/a> to create this border.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-3.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2550\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-A6BjuL5G\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2550\" without big dots of color?\u00a0 (lost, alone, and sad.\u00a0 I digress)\u00a0 I grabbed\u00a0two new\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/misc-stamp-mixed-media-supplies\/ranger-inkssentials-mini-ink-blending-replacement-foam-40972.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Replacement Foam<\/a> for my Mini Ink Blending Tool and two colors of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media\/dina-wakley-media-paint\" target=\"_blank\">Dina Wakley&#8217;s Media Paint<\/a>: Blackberry Violet and Turquoise.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-6.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2553\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-A6BjuL5G\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2553\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-6.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week-20-6\" width=\"700\" height=\"510\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And added alternating colors of big dots to the center of each opening.\u00a0 give them time to dry, then add&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-7.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2554\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-A6BjuL5G\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2554\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-7.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week-20-7\" width=\"700\" height=\"635\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>White dots of paint to the center.\u00a0 This photos is kind of all over the place.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve added white dots and let them dry, plus I used a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/tools-and-supplies\/sharpie-water-based-paint-marker\/sharpie-waterbased-paint-marker-extra-fine-tip-black.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Sharpie Extra Fine Black Paint Pen <\/a>and have outlined around each of them.\u00a0 If you look in at the dot in the upper left you&#8217;ll see I&#8217;ve begun to doodle around it with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/tools-and-supplies\/faber-castell-pitt-pens\/faber-castell-pitt-artist-pen-f-fine-tip-black-199.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Black Pitt Fine Pen<\/a>.\u00a0 I used the same black Sharpie to outline the turquoise dot.\u00a0 It&#8217;s important to let all of the paint dry before you use either pen.\u00a0 If the paint gets on the tip of either, you&#8217;re not going to be happy with the way it writes.\u00a0 (been there, done that)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-8.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2555\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-A6BjuL5G\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2555\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-8.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week-20-8\" width=\"700\" height=\"650\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The turquoise dots are all finished, though there are more dots to come&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-10.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2556\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-A6BjuL5G\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2556\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/2016-aja-week-20-10.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week-20-10\" width=\"700\" height=\"645\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once I finished the petals on the purple flowers everything felt a little bare, so I used a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/tools-and-supplies\/sharpie-water-based-paint-marker\/sharpie-waterbased-paint-marker-extra-fine-tip-white.htm\" target=\"_blank\">White Extra Fine Sharpie Paint Pen
