The\u00a0idea for this week’s page spread was to work with my painted deli papers.\u00a0 For those of you who don’t have any, scrapbook papers make a great substitute, so don’t sweat it!<\/p>\n

I dug through my stash and pulled out a sheet I wanted to work with, then chose three colors of Dina Wakley’s Media Paint <\/a>that coordinated for the background.<\/p>\n

And then I got my greedy little mitts on a jar of the new Bo Bunny Glitter Paste <\/a>and knew I had to include it too.\u00a0 I didn’t want to ditch the original idea to use Deli Paper, so decided that the two would play nice together and went to town with color and glitter.<\/p>\n

Here\u00a0is the paper I chose and the three colors of Dina’s Paint that I wanted to use: Fuchsia<\/a>, Turquoise<\/a>, and Ocean<\/a>.\u00a0 Look closely and you’ll see that the background of the spread already has a thin layer of\u00a0Dina’s Gesso<\/a>\u00a0scraped on in a really thing layer.<\/p>\n

Three colors added.\u00a0 Turquoise in the first photo, Fuchsia in the second, and Ocean as the final color in the third.\u00a0 See that big blotch of Ocean in the bottom left corner?\u00a0 It was still damp and I really didn’t like it so used a damp paper towel to remove some of the color.\u00a0 It was too big, too dark, and the first thing my eye went to.\u00a0 Ugh.\u00a0 In subsequent photos you’ll see that it no longer is so big, so dark, or the first thing\u00a0your eye goes to!<\/p>\n

I used some Gesso and this bottle cap to make circles…<\/p>\n

And then grabbed one of our Plastic Scraper\/Spreader <\/a>thingys.\u00a0 I wanted to make lines and this is an easy way to do it.<\/p>\n

As with the circles, I placed them randomly over the spread.<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-14-8\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pink Punch Glitter Paste <\/a>was the color I bought home, which was good since it coordinated with what I’d already begun.\u00a0 That’s our Punchinella Trio #1 Stencil<\/a>.\u00a0 The 1\/4″ openings in the center are the ones I use the most.\u00a0 Can you tell by the amount of color left there?<\/p>\n

The best part of the Glitter Paste?\u00a0 It maintains whatever shape you apply it in, making it perfect for use with stencils.<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-14-10\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There…\u00a0 I like it!\u00a0 The glitter is not at all dimmed by the media it’s held in – it looks like any other glitter you use.\u00a0 Only dimensional.\u00a0 And fabulous.<\/p>\n

When I\u00a0adhere Deli Paper I use Dina’s Gel Medium<\/a>.\u00a0 It dries to a matte finish and PITT Pens<\/a> write on it with no difficulty.\u00a0 As you’ll see, that’s important…<\/p>\n

\"2016-aja-week-14-12\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Because I like to add what looks like stitching around each piece using the pens.\u00a0 It helps set it off from the background and emphasize the shape.\u00a0 Once that was finished it was just a matter of deciding which characters to add to the page.\u00a0 I eventually decided on two from Stampotique<\/a> and one of the new Quirky Birdies.<\/p>\n
