2016 Art Journal Adventure &#8211; Week 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Week 13\u00a0in our year long Art Journal Adventure.\u00a0 Where did the time go &#8211; it&#8217;s the end of March already?\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the thing: it&#8217;s not too late to begin.\u00a0 Whether you\u00a0start right here at Week 13 or jump in and start at the beginning and work you way through the weeks.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also not too late to join the AJA Facebook group.\u00a0 Bonnie and I would love to see you mosey on over there and take part.\u00a0 We have a really nice\u00a0collection of women\u00a0who are kind and supportive of one another.\u00a0 And there&#8217;s some fantastic art being shared!\u00a0 If you would like to join, please click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1747477262148576\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> and ask to join.\u00a0 That&#8217;s simply a formality since the group is &#8220;closed&#8221;, which is a Facebook thing.\u00a0 Everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Ideas for page spreads come from many places: a photo, product I want to try, a technique I&#8217;m experimenting with, or even something as simple as a quote.\u00a0 Last week Faye sent an email with\u00a0one she thought I would enjoy.\u00a0 I read the mail, snickered at the quote, and almost instantly the idea for today&#8217;s page popped into my head.<\/p>\n<p>The quote:\u00a0 <em>She who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>If you know me, you know this is about as perfect as it gets.\u00a0 In a matter of minutes I was off and running, putting paint over the gesso that was leftover from last week&#8217;s debacle.\u00a0 You may recall I had an idea that didn&#8217;t pan out, so I punted and went in the complete opposite direction, eventually using only one half of the page spread.\u00a0 That left the right side of the spread for this quote.\u00a0 I spent about an hour creating this page; everything simply fell into place.<\/p>\n<p>I knew I wanted a character walking, with the glitter trailing down in a cloud behind her and more having settled on the ground over her footprints.\u00a0 I ended up using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/rubber-stamps\/joggles-cling-mounted-rubber-stamps\/joggles-cling-mounted-rubber-stamp-the-bird-edgar-33677.htm\" target=\"_blank\">The Bird Edgar<\/a> and though she has a male name, she&#8217;s definitely female in this situation.\u00a0 Perhaps I&#8217;ll temporarily rename her The Bird Ernestine?<\/p>\n<p>The background for this page uses <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media\/dina-wakley-media-paint\" target=\"_blank\">Dina Wakley&#8217;s Media Paint<\/a> and the same technique from Week 11.\u00a0 If you click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/2016-art-journal-adventure-week-11\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, you&#8217;ll go to that post and be able to view the video I referenced there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-1.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1867\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-GJZkskne\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1867\" href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media\/dina-wakley-media-paint\/dina-wakley-media-heavy-body-acrylic-paint-blackberry-violet.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Blackberry Violet<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media\/dina-wakley-media-paint\/dina-wakley-media-heavy-body-acrylic-paint-night.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Night<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media\/dina-wakley-media-paint\/dina-wakley-media-heavy-body-acrylic-paint-turquoise.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Turquoise<\/a>.\u00a0 Remember, there is already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-fine-tip-applicators\/dina-wakley-media-white-gesso-2oz-tube.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Gesso<\/a> on the page which is what allows you to easily spread the colors with your fingers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-2.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1863\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-GJZkskne\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1863\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-2.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aka-week-13-2\" width=\"600\" height=\"394\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Turquoise goes on first.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-3.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1864\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-GJZkskne\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1864\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-3.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aka-week-13-3\" width=\"600\" height=\"397\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then Blackberry Violet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-4.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1865\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-GJZkskne\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1865\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-4.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aka-week-13-4\" width=\"600\" height=\"417\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And finally, Night.\u00a0 I always work from light to dark with this technique.\u00a0 The background was what I was looking for, and I like it, but felt it was lacking something.<\/p>\n<p>Because I still haven&#8217;t put away the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/finnabair-art-alchemy\" target=\"_blank\">Finnabair Art Alchemy Paints,<\/a> I used it with\u00a0our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/rubber-stamps\/joggles-foam-stamps\/joggles-foam-stamp-wonky-layered-circles-small-57012.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Small Wonky Layered Circles Foam Stamp<\/a> to add some pattern to the background.\u00a0 \u00a0If you spread\u00a0the paint\u00a0on a nonstick surface or palette and use your finger to smooth it into a thin layer, you can tap the foam stamp into it\u00a0to &#8220;ink&#8221; the color on the stamp surface.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-5.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1866\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-GJZkskne\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1866\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-5.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aka-week-13-5\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I used <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/rubber-stamps\/joggles-foam-stamps\/joggles-foam-stamp-wonky-layered-circles-small-57012.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Aqua-Rose<\/a>\u00a0and think the background is\u00a0better now.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-7.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1868\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-GJZkskne\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1868\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-7.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aka-week-13-7\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s Ernestine, colored with Ink Sprays loaded into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/waterbrushes\/tim-holtz-water-brush-by-ranger-fine-detail-nib-tip33080.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Tim&#8217;s Detail Water Brush<\/a>.\u00a0 There&#8217;s not enough reflection to really see it, but she has Stickles on her wing and tail.\u00a0 (of course she does!)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-6.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1870\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-GJZkskne\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1870\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-6.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aka-week-13-6\" width=\"600\" height=\"394\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And here&#8217;s the quote Faye to have glitter trailing over her footprints, she needs footprints!\u00a0 Simple little feet.\u00a0 A straight line with three toes made with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/tools-and-supplies\/faber-castell-pitt-pens\/faber-castell-pitt-artist-pen-s-super-fine-tip-black-199.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Black PITT Super Fine Point Pen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-9.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1872\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-GJZkskne\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1872\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/2016-aka-week-13-9.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aka-week-13-9\" width=\"600\" height=\"493\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The placement is set and
