2016 Art Journal Adventure &#8211; Week 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With Valentine&#8217;s Day looming this weekend, I decided that week 6&#8217;s page spread should probably feature hearts and colors in the pink\/red family, plus I knew I wanted\u00a0a heart shaped tip-in.\u00a0 That&#8217;s more or less what I ended up with\u00a0&#8211; which doesn&#8217;t always happen as my muse often has ideas\u00a0different than mine &#8211;\u00a0and with the exception of using Dina&#8217;s Blackberry Violet paint which is my little twist on the traditional colors of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Though I took photos of my process for adding gesso and paint to the spread background, I&#8217;m also going to refer you to one of the videos where you can see\u00a0it in real time.\u00a0\u00a0A link to that video will be there, with photos of the process of applying the paint.\u00a0 Count to the 11th photo in this post and you&#8217;ll find the link.\u00a0 Click it and the page will open in a new window so you don&#8217;t lose your place here.<\/p>\n<p>Onward to week 6&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-1.jpg\" rel=\"attachment href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/rubber-stamps\/dylusions-unmounted-rubber-stamps-by-dyan-reaveley\/dylusions-creative-journal-square-kraft.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Dylusions Square Kraft Journal <\/a>are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/rangers-inkssentials-papers-and-surfaces\/ranger-mixed-media-cardstock-isd44628.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Ranger&#8217;s Mixed Media Cardstock<\/a>, it seemed sensible to use that to make the heart tip-in.\u00a0\u00a0 Sketch a heart shape on the paper and cut it out.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-2.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1154\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1154\" heart from the center.\u00a0 Hold onto both pieces!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-3.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1155\" I wanted to have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/art-institute-glitters-fantasy-film\" target=\"_blank\">Fantasy Film <\/a>center, you&#8217;ll need two hearts with the center removed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-4.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1156\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1156\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-4.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-4\" width=\"700\" height=\"596\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cut a piece of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/art-institute-glitters-fantasy-film\" target=\"_blank\">Fantasy Film <\/a>to the rough size of the heart, but do not glue it in place yet.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-7.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1159\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-and-paint\/dina-wakley-media-paint\" target=\"_blank\">Dina Wakley&#8217;s Media Paint<\/a>, I used 3 colors of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/lindys-stamp-gang-two-toned-starburst-sprays\" target=\"_blank\">Lindy&#8217;s Starburst Sprays<\/a>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/lindys-stamp-gang-two-toned-starburst-sprays\/lindys-stamp-gang-two-toned-starburst-spray-autumn-maple-crimson.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Autumn Maple Crimson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/lindys-stamp-gang-two-toned-starburst-sprays\/lindys-stamp-gang-two-toned-starburst-spray-bougainvillea-fuchsia.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Bougainvillea Fuchsia<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/lindys-stamp-gang-two-toned-starburst-sprays\/lindys-stamp-gang-two-toned-starburst-spray-hi-maintenance-magenta.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Hi Maintenance Magenta<\/a>.\u00a0 Spritz them on the two hearts &#8211; you only need to spray one side of each since they&#8217;ll be glued together.\u00a0 See all of that luscious color surrounding the hearts, just sitting there on my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/misc-stamp-mixed-media-supplies\/inkssentials-nonstick-craft-sheet.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Nonstick Craft Sheet<\/a>?\u00a0 Don&#8217;t waste it!\u00a0 Move the hearts somewhere to dry and then use a sheet or two of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/misc-stamp-mixed-media-supplies\/joggles-deli-paper.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Deli Paper <\/a>to mop up what remains.\u00a0 Smile inwardly at your creative resourcefulness.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-5.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1166\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1166\" applying a thin layer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-and-paint\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-fine-tip-applicators\/dina-wakley-media-white-gesso-4oz-jar.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Dina&#8217;s White Gesso<\/a> to the page spread using\u00a0 her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-and-paint\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-fine-tip-applicators\/dina-wakley-media-palette-knife.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Palette Knife <\/a>till the entire area has a haphazardly applied and very thin coat&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-6.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1165\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" Or.\u00a0 You.\u00a0 Will.\u00a0 Be.\u00a0 Unhappy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-8.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1161\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1161\" finest, no brushes required.\u00a0 Complete coverage is not what you seek.\u00a0 Beginning with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-and-paint\/dina-wakley-media-paint\/dina-wakley-media-heavy-body-acrylic-paint-magenta.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Magenta Media Paint<\/a>,\u00a0apply a little with your fingers, scrubbing it around till you&#8217;ve made it a nice, thin layer.\u00a0 See the imperfections?\u00a0 You want them, so don&#8217;t try and cover the finger marks or fill in the rough areas where the gesso was not applied in a smooth layer.\u00a0 The color is darker in some areas too.\u00a0 That&#8217;s character and you want plenty as it keeps the background from being flat looking and boring.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-9.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1162\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1162\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-9.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-9\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Apply Magenta\u00a0to other areas, but do not feel as though you have to fill it all in.\u00a0 Leave some for the other colors.\u00a0\u00a0Move on to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-and-paint\/dina-wakley-media-paint\/dina-wakley-media-heavy-body-acrylic-paint-ruby.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Dina&#8217;s Ruby<\/a>, using the same technique to apply it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-10.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1163\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1163\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-10.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-10\" width=\"700\" height=\"474\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And do the same thing with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-and-paint\/dina-wakley-media-paint\/dina-wakley-media-heavy-body-acrylic-paint-blackberry-violet.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Dina&#8217;s Blackberry Violet Media Paint<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-11.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1164\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1164\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-11.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-11\" width=\"700\" height=\"425\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Decide that the colors are darker than what you think looks good and apply <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/dina-wakley-media-brushes-mediums-and-paint\/dina-wakley-media-paint\/dina-wakley-media-heavy-body-acrylic-paint-white.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Media White Paint <\/a>to knock back some of the depth and add a little white space as relief for your eyes.\u00a0 Or not, depending on how you feel about the colors!<\/p>\n<p>The video where you can see this process of applying the gesso in a very thin and uneven layer, then applying the paint with your fingers is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/a-new-obsession-art-cards\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, part of the Art Cards project.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-13.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1169\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-13.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-13\" width=\"700\" height=\"489\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I liked the background at this point, but knew it needed splatters.\u00a0 Shake one color of the Starburst Sprays to distribute the pigment and mica, then tip a little out onto your Nonstick Craft Sheet.\u00a0 Using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/tools-and-supplies\/brushes-brushes-brushes\/princeton-watercolor-brush-4-fan-4350.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Princeton #4 Fan Brush<\/a>, pick up the puddle and get ready to splatter.\u00a0 (cover the things you don&#8217;t care to splatter)\u00a0 You can dilute the Starburst Spray with a little water if you want.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t, but it meant I needed to use more of the color in order to have enough to cover the entire spread.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-14.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1170\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1170\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-14.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-14\" width=\"700\" height=\"430\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With the bristles positioned above the page spread, grasp the brush in you dominant hand.\u00a0 Extend a finger from your other hand and tap the handle of the brush against it.\u00a0 This will cause splatters to magically appear on the page spread.\u00a0 Repeat until you&#8217;re happy with the coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Decide that all looks good, but still a little dark, so get out the Palette Knife and the Media White Paint and randomly scrap some across the entire page spread&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-20.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1173\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1173\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-20.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-20\" width=\"700\" height=\"455\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And get out the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/daler-rowney-fw-pearlescent-inks\" target=\"_blank\">Daler Rowney FW Pearlescent Ink <\/a>in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/daler-rowney-fw-pearlescent-inks\/daler-rowney-fw-pearlescent-ink-hot-mama-red.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Hot Mama Red<\/a> and splatter more.\u00a0 Ah, that&#8217;s more like it!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-18.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1174\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1174\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-18.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-18\" width=\"700\" height=\"449\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s almost time to assemble the heart tip-in, but before you do, trace one on a half sheet of Media Cardstock.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll need\u00a02 of the smaller hearts to use on the spread.\u00a0 Cut them out and set aside.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-16.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1175\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1175\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-16.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-16\" width=\"700\" height=\"490\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since the Fantasy Film is a slick, nonporous surface you need a glue appropriate to\u00a0it.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/tools-and-supplies\/glues-and-adhesives\/aleenes-super-thick-tacky-glue-4-ounce-jar.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Aleene&#8217;s Super Thick Tacky <\/a>is perfect.\u00a0 Trim the Fantasy Film to a shape that roughly mimics the opening and glue it in place.\u00a0 Repeat with the other piece.\u00a0 Test fit before applying the glue to make sure you do not have one reversed.\u00a0 You&#8217;ll know immediately because the shapes will not align properly.\u00a0 Your tip-in is almost complete!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/joggles-collage-sheets\/joggles-collage-sheets-watercolor-hearts-and-arrows-jg401102.htm\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1177\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1177 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-34.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-34\" width=\"700\" height=\"541\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The arrows from this collage sheet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/joggles-collage-sheets\/joggles-collage-sheets-watercolor-hearts-and-arrows-jg401102.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Watercolor Hearts &amp; Arrows<\/a>, are going to add a perfect finishing touch to your hearts and some other elements.\u00a0 I used almost all of them except the gold ones.\u00a0 Start cutting!\u00a0 In the next photo you&#8217;ll see how I carefully cut around the little hearts that are the fletching on the arrow.\u00a0 Just leave a little white border and cut rounded shapes around the hearts&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-17.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1176\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1176\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-17.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-17\" width=\"700\" height=\"505\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Easy and it looks wonderful.\u00a0 This is my assembled tip-in.\u00a0 There is a\u00a0arrow on both sides to complete the look.\u00a0 Place the heart in the center seam of the page spread to get an idea how much you need to trim off of one side to get the heart to sit snugly.\u00a0 Eyeball it.\u00a0 Really.\u00a0 Trim similar to what you see here and the tip-in is ready to go.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-19.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1180\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" you previously cut and spritz them with the 3 colors of Starburst Sprays.\u00a0 Unlike the heart tip-in, I went for more coverage.\u00a0 Let them dry, then use a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/tools-and-supplies\/faber-castell-pitt-pens\" target=\"_blank\">PITT pen <\/a>to outline the border, adding the word &#8216;love&#8217; in a couple of places.\u00a0 Grab one of the arrows you cut out and glue it in place.\u00a0 Do this to them all.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-21.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1182\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1182\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-21.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-21\" width=\"700\" height=\"509\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Using a half sheet of the Mixed Media Cardstock, spray with the 3 colors of Starburst Sprays and splatter with the FW Hot Mama Red Pearlescent Ink.\u00a0 Let it dry or hurry it along with your heat tool.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-22.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1183\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1183\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-22.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-22\" width=\"700\" height=\"475\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cut or punch a couple of different sized circles from the half sheet you just colored and dried.\u00a0 More arrows &#8211; cut &#8217;em out!\u00a0 I scribbled spirals of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/paint-dye-and-ink\/stickles-glitter-glues\/original-stickles-glitter-glues\" target=\"_blank\">Stickles<\/a> on the circles and let it dry.\u00a0 As you can see, the plan is to layer arrows on top.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-23.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1179\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1179\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-23.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-23\" width=\"700\" height=\"428\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Glue them in place.\u00a0 I ended up with 4 large circles, which with the 3 hearts (the tip-in and 2 smaller ones), gave me an odd number of larger elements on the page.\u00a0\u00a0 Odd is good.\u00a0 And not just for numbers&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-24.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1187\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1187\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-24.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-24\" width=\"700\" height=\"407\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s my rough layout of the elements.\u00a0 Nothing is in place yet, but I like the arrangement.\u00a0 I made a point of turning the circles so that the arrows were pointing in different directions.\u00a0 The first thing I want to get in place is the tip-in, but for that I will need to make a piece of tape to hold in in&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-25.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1188\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1188\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-25.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-25\" width=\"700\" height=\"465\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/tools-and-supplies\/glues-and-adhesives\/scor-tape-0-5-inch-sp203.htm\" target=\"_blank\">1\/2&#8243; Scor Tape<\/a> will do the trick.\u00a0 Cut a length of Fantasy Film and lay it on the exposed adhesive of the Scor Tape.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-26.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1189\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1189\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-26.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-26\" width=\"700\" height=\"441\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Trim with scissors.\u00a0 Use the edge of the backing on the tape to guide the scissors and get ready to attach the tip-in.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-27.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1185\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1185\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-27.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-27\" width=\"700\" height=\"468\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cut a length of your custom Fantasy Film tape, peel the backing paper off and apply, visually splitting the tape so half is on the heart and half attached to the page.\u00a0 Press into place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-28.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1186\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1186\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-28.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-28\" width=\"700\" height=\"485\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Do the same thing to the other side and flip that thing back and forth.\u00a0 You just added a page\/tip-in to the spread!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-29.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1201\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1201\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-29.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-29\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Glue the remainder of the shapes in place.\u00a0 Use a PITT Pen to write a few words around the border, much the same as you did with the small hearts, then draw a single line border around the spread, skipping around the words.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-32.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1198\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1198\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-32.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-32\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Because the colors are so similar, and because these circles are reasonably small (about 1&#8243; in diameter) I outlined them with the black PITT Pen.\u00a0 It helps separate the shape from the background, making them pop a little.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-30.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1202\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1202\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-30.jpg\" alt=\"2016-aja-week6-30\" width=\"700\" height=\"477\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/2016-aja-week6-31.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1203\" data-rel=\"lightbox-gallery-DEHosyvR\" data-rl_title=\"\" in the fletch of the arrow, you&#8217;ll notice a little shine and dimension.\u00a0 Use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.joggles.com\/rubber-stamps-and-paper-art-supplies\/misc-stamp-mixed-media-supplies\/inkssentials-glossy-accents-2-fl-oz.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Glossy Accents<\/a>, adding a tiny
