Kelly’s 3rd Halloween card debuts today, this time using Tim’s 2024 Vault Picture Show<\/a>, Vault Gothic Portraits<\/a>, and Vault Wicked<\/a> Dies.\u00a0 As always, the project can be created as a journal page, wood panel, or something other than a card!\u00a0 Scroll to just under the photo for Kelly’s instructions.\u00a0 You’ll find the supply list after the instructions.<\/p>\n

The background was first ink smushed with Antique Linen and dried. I then used crackle paste through the flower stencil (any stencil could be used) and allowed it to dry naturally so that all of the beautiful crackle would come to life. Try to resist heat drying pastes as it causes bubbling (unless you are going for that look) and in the case of crackle paste, there won\u2019t be any crackle if you do. <\/em><\/p>\n

Once the background was completely dry, I came in with Distress Crayons in Worn Lipstick and Walnut Stain to add some color and antique the crackled flowers. This step adds so much texture and interest. I also edged the background heavily with Scorched Timber Distress Ink.<\/p>\n

To create the scene, I cut 3 photo segments from watercolor cardstock (Picture Show), 3 ghosts from thin durable white paper (alcohol ink marker paper is what I used). The ghosts and branches are from another TH die (2024 Vault Fright Night) set but any ghosts, branches, or cut up trees in your stash will work.<\/p>\n

After everything was die cut, I sprayed the branches with Scorched Timber Distress Spray, and smooshed the photo segments with Vintage Photo and edged them lightly with gold luster wax (you can use something similar). I found some fun TH portraits to add to the photo segments, but you can also use your own family photos or anything you have in your stash that you love!<\/p>\n

Lastly, I decided how I was going to lay it all out then adhered the branches flat to the card. The photo segments were popped up with foam squares for dimension, added little spooky sentiments, the ghosts, and we have a finished card.<\/p>\n
