Kelly is back again this week with another Halloween card created using Tim’s Picture Show Die with the 2024 Vault Halloween releases.\u00a0 Keep in mind that if you wish, the steps can be followed to create anything… a journal page, wood panel, or a card as she did.\u00a0 Take Kelly’s ideas and run with them!\u00a0 Up first, the main photo, then you’ll find Kelly’s description of how she created the project, and finally, additional photos.<\/p>\n

Time to get lost in the inky darkness with this spooky A2 card. The background comes together pretty fast, I used a glossy cardstock (wanted a little shine but you can use whatever you prefer) and did some heat embossing in black with cobwebs. Any cobweb stamp will work perfectly. I inked the edges heavily with Black Soot Distress Ink and allowed it to dry. After it was dry I roughed up the edges with my scissors to give it a really worn look, then I went back in with my Black soot to ensure it was really dark, and inky.<\/p>\n

Set the background aside and start die-cutting. You will need to die cut about three photo segments from Picture show and then stack them to make it sturdy. I then cut down a piece of a broken window transparency and glued it to the back. Same with the \u201cBoo\u201d die. I cut it twice out of black and once out of white heavyweight cardstock for that added dimension and a shadow layer.<\/p>\n

I cut out the lady from Gothic Portraits and lightly misted it with Picket Fence Distress Ink to give it a stone like feel. I added the lady to the background and then placed the photo segment with the broken window on top. This step is not necessary if you don\u2019t have a transparency like this\u2026 others create their own \u201cbroken window\u201d with scissors, a white gel pen, and thick acetate.<\/p>\n

Add your sentiments and all your bats, then go to town splattering (mask off the portrait)!! Let it all dry and you have a haunting card for someone faboolous!<\/p>\n
