It’s Wednesday which means I have another MidWeek Muse video for you, and today’s is all about using Lindy’s Stamp Gang’s Flat Fabios sprays.
You might wonder why you need yet another spray in your studio, where there is probably already an assortment. For me it all comes back to color. Make no mistake about it, I am a huge fan of Dylusions and Color Wash sprays, but color is what attracts me and the more I have available at my fingertips that happier and more creative my muse is.
There are 35 colors in the Flat Fabio line and many of them are quite different than what can be found in the others I mentioned. In addition to lots of fun transparent colors, there are also a group of semi-opaque ones. By “semi-opaque” I mean colors that have a base of solid pigment in a solution that sprays on and dries to a chalky, nearly opaque finish.
That will make more sense once you view the video. Because a picture (especially a moving one!) is always worth a 1000 words.
You’ll also see that you can combine Flat Fabios with Dylusions and if you MUST have some glimmer and sparkle, with Starburst Sprays and Moon Shadow Mists. They’re all water based products, so mixing is as easy as spraying one over another. And another. And another, if you choose. You’ll also see that though Flat Fabios are “mostly permanent”, you can ghost them to remove color. The effect is not as strong as when you work with a non-permanent color, but ghosting is certainly a technique you can use with them.
