Welcome to Wednesday and our newest MidWeek Muse video where I’m creating 6″ x 6″ vintage-style albums!
Using scrapbook papers lends an instant look and feel to the album, so choice of paper is one of the first ways you can set the tone of the project. In the video you’ll see me use papers from Tim Holtz’s Wallflower Paper Stash and a paper pad from My Mind’s Eye that’s named Find Your Wings And Fly.
Getting the covers and pages created by layering on the scrapbook paper is just the beginning. Once that’s done the real fun begins: embellishing! You’ll see me use all kinds of Tim Holtz’s Ideaology bits to add interest to the pages. Layers of embellishments are an important part of creating interesting pages and I’ll show you lots of ways to mix and match various pieces of paper and Ideaology elements to create really interesting bits to add to your album. I’m really into using Tim’s Remnant Rubs lately and you’ll see them appear a lot in this project.
Working on the three albums was a fun process that allowed me to stretch a bit, working outside of my usual art journal routine.
