Welcome to Wednesday where I’m excited to share our newest MidWeek Muse video that features mixed media projects created with Tim Holtz’s District Market Bare Burlap Canvases.
I had several that had been lounging on a shelf in my studio for quite some time and recently I decided that finishing them was a priority. I’m quite glad that my brain directed my muse to get off her butt and work on them – who knew so many body parts were required – and am really happy with the results.
The canvases are available in several options, with sizes ranging from 3″ x 3″ all the way up to 6″ x 8″. The best part is how easy it is to transform them from bare burlap to mixed media display piece. A bit of gesso, some paint, maybe some Texture Paste to add raised patterns, then a heap of Ideaology components to give them character.
Since I’m not a collector of paper, ephemera, or other bits, having all Tim’s Ideaology goodies available means I can create pieces that include all of those types of embellishments despite no stash to draw upon.
