As you’ll hear me say in the video, I like tags. I like the shape and how versatile they are. They’re great for layering or folding into little books.
The reason you rarely see me work with tags is because I’m not fond of the manila surface. I don’t like the way it absorbs sprays or how the yellow-ish color affects every other one I apply.
Enter the laser and watercolor paper, specifically Strathmore’s 140# cold pressed version, and suddenly I have tags that are perfect to play and create with.
If the paper name sounds familiar, it’s likely because you’ve heard me mention it when referencing our Disc Bound Watercolor Journals. We use that same paper for both products. And speaking of disc bound, in the video you’ll also see that along with the standard # 5, 8, 10, and 12 plain tags there are the same four sizes with notches cut so they can be disc bound too.
Even better? The notch spacing is identical, so you can swap pages and tags on the discs and they’ll integrate seamlessly. Think of the variety of journals you can create!
Supplies For This Video:
Joggles Disc Bound & Plain Watercolor Tags
Joggles Disc Bound Watercolor Journals & Additional Pages
Products I use on my tags include:
Inkssentials Mini Ink Blending Tool & Foam Refill
Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Watercolor Paint Palettes
Cosmic Shimmer Chalk Cloud Blending Inks
Stencils… because they’re perfect with all of the media listed!

Barb, You are my greatest inspiration. Thank you so much for your creative inventiveness ( just made that up). Love the tag books and all your beautiful artwork.
I so look forward to your letters and videos.
Isn’t that the truth, Mary? She is GREAT!!!!! and inspiring and a temptress for sure!
Great addition to your inventory! Like you, I don’t work on manila tags and for the same reasons. I’ve cut tags from watercolor paper because I want the white background and I like the reliability of how my media will react on the watercolor paper. Good on you!!
Love this idea! For me, a tag book would be less overwhelming as I experiment with all these wonderful new products. Thanks for this creative new way to journal and play!
Barb, I love this. I love all the watercolor art parts. A girl could go broke watching your videos…and I have.
Barb, I just love your videos. Really like the disc bound journals. How many tags are in a set? I can’t seem to find that.
Thank you for such clear, usable information.
Martha Lee B.
Thanks Martha!
The number of tags varies, depending on the size. It’s noted in the product description for each item. Just click on the name and you’ll be able to read the details.
